“THERE IS NO WAY TO ESCAPE THE FACADES.”

This quote from the Upper Austrian poet Waltraud Seidlhofer hits the nail—or rather, the screw—on the head.
Along with its shape, a building’s facade is the most defining design element. It is the obvious thing that
people talk about immediately—when it is new and after 20 years, when it has developed its characteristic features.
On this day, we will devote ourselves to the seemingly superficial topic of the facade. If we look at the underlying layers, we realize that
a facade influences the building more profoundly. This becomes clear at the very latest when a facade ages. Can it fulfill its functions
for another 10 years? How can it be renewed? How do we address existing buildings that need renovation?
The speakers will provide answers to these questions.
